Skype Piano Lessons with Experienced Piano Teacher- All Levels Welcome and Available Everywhere :-) FIRST LESSON FREE!!!!

Experienced and Qualified Piano Teacher

I am a friendly and passionate piano teacher who teaches both beginners and more advanced students. I have experience giving piano lessons to complete beginners up to and beyond grade 8, with ages ranging from 5 years old to 65+. My qualifications include a Masters in Music Performance (piano), a BA degree in Music Studies and Grade 8 Piano (distinction). In addition, I have a full enhanced DBS check, public liability insurance and a vast amount of performance and teaching experience.
I am a member of the ISM (Incorporated Society of Musicians) and so I’m bound by their code of ethics and practice.
I am able to enter students for ABRSM exams and in the last session 3 out of 4 of my students achieved a high distinction grade, with the other person only 2 marks off.
I use specialist software which allows students to receive lessons reminders, complete a practice diary, make payments and view invoices online. I find the lesson reminders in particular extremely useful.
Although Skype piano lessons may seem like a strange concept at first they do have a number of advantages: no travelling time, increased student performance, familiarity of instrument etc.

In order to get the most out of lessons I provide students with concise lessons notes as well as an annotated version of their music with comments I will make during the lesson. This is an addition to demonstrating on a grand piano, using 2 webcams and a top-quality microphone.

Performance Experience

In order to provide top quality piano lessons I think it is important to have had experience as a performer.

My experience as a pianist has involved giving solo recitals in many venues in the north of England. These include Wakefield Cathedral, The Venue (as part of the Leeds International Concert Season) and The Clothworkers’ Centenary Concert Hall. In addition I have played in many other locations as a wedding pianist.

As part of a charity event I have performed on television at Castle Howard, North Yorkshire and have worked in other professional engagements as a Leeds accompanist and ensemble performer.

“Mark is an outstanding piano teacher. He teaches my two grandsons (age 9 and 8) and is inspirational in the way he motivates and encourages them. He sets, and achieves, high standards for technique and performance (a high distinction in Grade 1 recently, for one of them, in his first experience of ABRSM exams), but piano lessons and music making are always fun, and practising between lessons is never a chore. He has a great rapport with children (and with grandmas too!) and has been an important influence in fostering the boys’ love and understanding of music. I would recommend him without hesitation.”
